TG to Samui

According to today's Bangkok Post (http://www.bangkokpost.com/Business/06Feb2008_biz49.php) Thai Airways will start flying to Samui NEXT WEEK - on 15 Feb. They aim to price the fare just below Bangkok Airways', although I assume they mean BA's mid-day fares. You can get really cheap seats on BA if you take the first flight out in the morning.

You can buy tickets now on www.thaiair.com for flights departing February 14 on. Cheapest all in price I see is 3605 baht one way. Looks like two flights per day. Scheduled aircraft is a 737-400.

Yes, two flights is all they're authorized for - by the civil aviation authorities, not Bangkok Air. They also can't fly anything bigger than a 737-400.

That's good. I'll be able to get Star Alliance miles when I go to Samui on TG.
