Visiting the hot springs would have been cool but given that most of them are a bit outside the city, it would take up most of your last day in the country. Maybe on your next visit! Have fun at Shi-lin. It should be a good crowd since it's the weekend. Be sure to try the oyster omelet (O-ah-jen), stinky tofu, and the fried chicken. Those are my favs...

The National Taiwan College of Performing Arts is open on Mondays and Thursdays for visitors. Tours start at 10:00 am and a performance of acrobatics and a short Chinese opera scene follows.
