I would love to believe it will happen.
In Obama's speech at ASEAN in November, he talked about lifting sanctions if ASSK and other political prisoners were released. We were in Burma at the time and the people we spoke with were so excited - they seemed to believe it might happen (much more than I did). Perhaps they will be proved right.

BBC world is reporting that this is more a hint than a fact.
Myanmar party plays down Suu Kyi release report

Myanmar junta COULD free Suu Kyi in November

But reuters says this:
'...Home Minister Major General Maung Oo told a January 21 meeting of local officials the 64-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner would be released in November, a month after many observers expect the country to hold its first parliamentary elections in two decades.
The information could not be verified independently but three people who attended the meeting said the comment was made to an audience of several hundred people in Kyaukpadaung, a town about 565 km (350 miles) north of the former capital, Yangon.
The three witnesses requested anonymity...'
So, according to reuters, we seem to have unverified information from three sources, all of whom request anonymity.

Sometimes information like this is pre-released as a test case - to gauge the reaction and to see who's coming out in her support. Sometimes it's just a rumor that takes on wildfire proportions.
I'm with nywoman: "Seeing is believing".
and with Mohan that the powers that be can impose her house arrest again even if she's released.
We shall see. Keeping fingers crossed.
