Free Jazz on Sundays in NYC

I thought some summer visitors might enjoy the Sunday night jazz series at my church, Middle Collegiate Church, in the East Village. Yes, there's a brief "spiritual reflection" in the middle, but otherwise it's an hour of free jazz with a variety of musicians in a neighborhood you might be visiting anyway. There is no admission charge but a free-will offering is collected to support the jazz program.

Sunday Jazz On High Series at 6:00 pm
Middle Collegiate Church, Second Avenue between 6th and 7th Streets.

July 6
Deanna Witkowski, piano
Dave Ambrosio, bass
Vince Cherico, drums

July 13
John Beaty, alto saxophone
Yayoi lkawa, piano
Jim Robertson, drums

July 20
Spencer Zahn, bass
Luc Decker, drums
Douglas Bradford, guitar
Jas Walton, tenor sax

July 27
Red Hook Ramblers Dixieland Band

Jazz on High will end its season on July 27. On September 21, Middle Collegiate Church will present the annual Coltrane Memorial Concert, and on September 28 Jazz on High will resume its regular schedule.

Thanks for sending this around! It looks great. That's one of my favorite things about NYC in the summer- so many fantastic free options!
