Suggested tours in Tokyo
G'day!
We (Aussie couple in our 50's) will be in Tokyo mid-May and will have 2 full days to ourselves. Wondering if anyone has some recommendations for a half/full day tour of Tokyo.
Any particular tour company better than others?
Any "not-to-be-missed" places that shows us some highlights of Japan (landscape/scenery, history etc)?
Thanks in advance

I think many people use Sunrise Tours or Hato Tour--usually you can pick up a leaflet and have the reservation arranged via hotel concierge.
It's a group bus tour, can be a bit hectic. I recommend you go for a half-day course on the first day in the morning to get a general sense, so that you can use the remainder of the stay at your leisure.
As for not-to-be-missed traditional sites, my favourites are Meiji Shrine (esp early in the morning), Tsukiji fish market (VERY early in the morning), Asakusa temple. A few traditional gardens--either Rikugien or Hamarikyu.

See my post of tonight on the post "1 day in Tokyo" regarding Junko (Jun) Matsuda, a personal guide who does day tours of Tokyo tailored to your interests and desires. Personally, I have seen Tokyo on my own, but w/only two days, a day w/her might be just what you need.
If you put "Junko" in the search box you'll see the posts on her.

With only 2 days, you'll have enough things to see in Tokyo proper, instead of having a whole day tour to Mt Fuji. If the weather is clear, you might be able to have a glimpse of the mountain either from Shinjuku high rise (I hear Tokyo government office or Park Hyatt are good locations).
