Skydivers over Bangkok Jan. 24
I just learned from a friend of mine that there will be a spectacular skydiving event over Bangkok on January 24 in honor of the Queen. There will be an attempt to set the world record for the number of skydivers over one jump site at one time. 672 skydivers will land in downtown Bangkok. For those who will be there at that time, I think it would be an awesome sight to see. For more details, go to http://www.theworldteam.com/

I'd love to see that! But....those must be some of the bravest skydivers around. Not only is there very little open space in downtown Bangkok but you have the following hazards to avoid.
1) all those pointy temples
2) the filty canals and river. (last time I was there, a famous member of a boyband had wrecked his car into a canal and was in a coma from a virus to the brain he picked up in the water.)
3) the air.

Artisland,
A little bit of a correction - the singer you've mentioned contracted massive fungus infection to all part of his external and internal body. He's still in a coma and has been classified as "brain - dead". Don't fall into the Klongs!
Group skydiving has been done before in Bangkok with no casualty. There are a few favourite places that the skydiver like to land - big open ground outside the grand palace and a park next to the weekend market.
