Hi Alison! It was great running into you at Angkor Wat. Glad you had a great trip. I plan to post a trip report at some point. Hopefully all of you wonderful fodorites will forgive me if it is a bit delayed. We got back from Asia and went straight to our vacation home in Maine to spend some time with my parents. We do not have good access to internet here, so I will have to wait until I get home to post a detailed report.

Our time with Ponheary was wonderful. Yes, she focuses on the foundation and the school - but only because we asked her to. We are both educators and wanted to see what she is doing. We also have the oppoetunity to have dinner with her, Lori, Terry, and many wonderful young volunteers. It made for a very important part of our travel. We also had the opportunity to spend time with Dara as she needed to be with the volunteers one morning. He was terrific also. Both of them were very knowledgeable and showed us a great time. Ponheary was also very cognizent of our level of fatigue and always seemed to know when it was time to call it a morning or an afternoon. I liked the way they divide the time up and gave us a rest in the middle of the day. It really helped since we were at the end of a 3 week trip and beginning to feel the effects of the non-stop touring (not totally non-stop as we did have a few down days, but not many).

I hope this helps any of you questioning your choice of guide. You will have a great time with Ponheary. And if you are able to have both her and Dara, so much the better. Or if she's busy and you have Dara the whole time - that will be fabulous also. They're both terrific people.
