Should I change my honeymoon itinerary?
This board has been very helpful in helping me plan my honeymoon to Thailand and Angkor Wat next month. I thought I had my itinerary settled upon - Bangkok, Siem Reap (Angkor Wat), Phuket and/or nearby islands in 14 days. This was my tentative plan:
Day 0- arrive at midnight
Day 1-3: Bangkok
Day 4: Bangkok to Siem Reap
Day 7: Siem Reap to Phuket
Day 8-11: Phuket and thereabouts
Day 12: Phuket to Bangkok
Day 13-14: Bangkok
Day 15 morning: fly home
Pretty good, right? Trouble is, we happened to see a photo of the Four Seasons Golden Triangle "camp." GORGEOUS scenery. Now we're wondering if we should sneak in a 2-night trip to Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai somehow in order to see the mountains and possibly an elephant sanctuary. The Four Seasons is out of the question, but the Anantara might be an option. Any thoughts on this? If so, specifics on where and how? Or, could you convince me that my itinerary is perfect and to forget about the mountains?
Anantara is really the top of our budget. It just seems logistically difficult, since I was planning on using the Bangkok Air Discovery Pass and they don't seem to fly to Chiang Rai. Someplace near Chiang Mai might be easier, but I don't know if that would fit the bill? In any case, I need to make sure I can get to Siem Reap via Bangkok Air.
Would really appreciate your thoughts on whether to incorporate another city (and how to change my plans to accomodate it!) or just to leave the itinerary alone. I have to book my inter-Thailand (and Cambodia) flights asap!

The only possibility I see is to substitute the Anantara for Phuket. Of course if you absolutely must have beach time, that is not an option. Personally I feel you can do a beach almost anywhere so there's not that much unique about Phuket. In any case, you do not have enough time in your itinerary to add another destination.
