Shanghai: the BUND -- is construction over? almost over?

Curious if anyone who has been there very recently (or is there now!) can comment on the state of the Bund!

Would love to take a stroll or a river cruise during our trip in a few weeks...

thanks!
dina

Dina, when will you be in Shanghai? Just wondering if your trip coincides with mine--from the 18th through 22nd March.

The construction is set to be completed by the end of March. ALL the construction all over Shanghai is supposed to be done by that time, to give it two months for the dust to settle before the expo.

Talked to people in Shanghai just now, the Bund area is still a big mess (dirt mixed with snow), Michael is right if construction can be finished end of March, may drag into April.

If the weather is not overcast or rainy, suggest you have late coffee/early cocktails at Cloud 9 Lounge on the 87th Floor of the Grand Hyatt with stunning views of the city. The new Park Hyatt nearby also has the Bar on the 87th Floor, I haven't been there yet.

so since construction on the street is a mess, does anyone recommend a river cruise?

we'll definitely try to have a drink at Cloud 9.

Have your drink first, when you look down on the river you can decided if you want to do a cruise.

I have topped an older thread of mine for your reference.
