Safety in Bangkok?
I know ther are many threads on this issue but my wife is becoming paranoid. At her nail salon she was told not to go into Bangkok by ourselves but you always need a guide. I told her that statment was crzy but she wants the opinion of others. So pleae lend me a hand and calm her fears. Thnaks for the help.

Bangkok is very safe- we are here now and have been since Jan16th and will leave on the 29th. This is our third trip = others on this forum have been to Bangkok many more times than us. Its very safe - day or night there are always plenty of people walking about and the Thais are about the friendliest people on the planet.
You don't need a guide but if you don't want to navigate the trains and boats to see all the sights then enlist the aid of a driver. They are very reasonable and will take you to all the sights and an added benefit is that you sit in an air conditioned car from point to point with cold bottled water aboard and you don't expend your energy - which in the Bangkok heat can be a big deal. Search this forum for the drivers.
