Rupees upon arrival in Delhi
I will be arriving at Indira Gandhi Int'l Delhi airport about 3 a.m. and am wondering what my best option is for having or obtaining some rupees upon arrival. Are there secure ATMs available? My bank reimburses me for all extra ATM charges worldwide, so fees are not an issue for me.
If it makes any difference, I am American, and will be coming directly from the United States.

There are ATMS at the airport, open even late at night.
You will not have a problem finding an ATM in India, though you may sometimes have difficulty logging in. After a few tries, you'll know which bank machines work best with your cards.

I would have normally advised you to get some currency before you start the journey. But since it is USD, I think you can get it from any ATM in the airport without any ridiculous exchange rates. You also have several Forex booths across the airport where you can exchange currency at any time of the day.

We were going to wait to get the rupees on arrival. But since we arrive at 2:00am we decided to eliminate one step. I do not know where you live but Wells Fargo if you have an account will order them for you. Bank of America does not carry Rupees. We each took $500 and got about 33,000 rupees, it was a fair exchange rate and it is off our to do list which was exciting
