right time at Delhi
Hi,
I have a weeks time from 29 May 2012( due to school hols convenience) for travel to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and any hill station to cool off and fly back to home at Kochi.
We are 4 pax with 2 juniors 19 yrs and 15 yrs.
May-June, I guess would be hot , even if one goes by an A/C cab .
Appreciate a fitting itenerary with Delhi as focal point ...
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanx in advance,
Akas

The hill station easily accessible, from Jaipur, and worthwhile is Shimla. There was a direct flight from Jaipur to Chandigarh. From Chandigarh you could take a cab to Shimla. On the other hand, if you overnight in Chandigarh, you could take the toy train to Shimla next morning, but book well in advance. On arrival in Shimla, you could simply walk up to the Oberois Cecil. If this hotel,is beyond your budget, in peak time, than there is a small hotel up the Museum Road, about 200 yards from Cecils, called Spars Lodge, recently refurbished with fairly large suites and views spectacular over the valley. Asa Ram is your manager at Spars and an expert at Grilled Trout...enjoy yourself!!

HI Akas,
Oberoi Cecil is expensive. Spars is inexpensive. There are good hotels in Shimla between those two extremes. With a week only, you won't have much time in any case at a hill station.
A week seems awfully packed to do 4 places, especially as the heat will be a limiting factor. It's not as if you can be running around in the middle of the day. Time yourselves to do stuff early a.m. and evening, make sure al your hotels (and car, as you mentioned) have AC.
What is the MOST enticing attraction for you and the kids in the "Golden Triangle"?
I am guessing Taj Mahal is one of those. Agra, Del, then a hill station. Among the latter, my experience in Manali (shoud you be looking into that) was that every family from Delhi with kids was, there on school holiday ...waayyyy too crowded to be relaxing. I agree with Mr Singh --Shimla was lovely and cool for two nights.
