Restaurants near the Grand Palace?

Hi all,

Can you anyone recommend any local, inexpensive restaurants to eat near/on the pier with a river view after seeing the Grand Palace?

also i'm considering eating at Taling Pling in Silom before a jaunt to the Sky Bar in Silom - any other inexpensive authentic thai restaurants close to Sky Bar?

Thanks!!

Try the Coconut Palm on Maharat Rd. Just in back of the palace ...sort of by Wat Pho. Food is Thai , very reasonable. Very unpretencious place. You may be the only Westerns in there. Excellent food. Phone is 02 622 2246.

For a little more upscale , across the river not far from there is Supatra River House. They have a nice deck over looking the river. 266 Soi Wat Rakhang, Arunamarin Rd 02 411 0305. Good luck and enjoy.

ok thanks...does Supatra River House have good food? or is it expensive and catered to the westerner's tongue? I was thinking about The Deck as well...but ..not keen as it sounded pretentious. Aren't there any other local restaurants by the river side?
