Cabbages and Condoms, Soi 12, Sukhumvit Road. Great food, very good service and all proceeds go to family planning and HIV awareness programmes.<BR>Lemongrass, Soi 24, Sukhumvit Road. It is actually a house. Great food- try the lemongrass chicken!<BR>In Chaweng:<BR>Baan Thai Seafood Restaurant- on the main street, close to the Chaweng Regent hotel.

The best restaurants on Koh samui are on Bophut Beach, my favorite is Eddy's restaurant. The best. Very good restaurants in Sukhomwit Road are near Nana station. If you are intersted I can send you a map. Let me know.

I stayed at the Peninsula in Bangkok last week and the food was excellent. They have water taxis that pick up at the central pier (at the end of the skytrain) and across the Chao Phraya near the Oriental and OP center. (the Loy Krathong festival dinner was outstanding!) I think that the lunch buffet @ Jester's will set you back about 600 baht.<BR><BR>I, too have heard good things about Lord Jim's at the Oriental. I was diving out at Phuket and one of the people in our group was a chef at a competing hotel. He recommended Lord Jim's highly. We didn't get the chance to go.<BR><BR>---------------<BR><BR>I recently stayed at Chaweng beach (two weeks ago now - it already seems long ago as the snow here begins to fall!) The weather was great! I really enjoyed the food at Poppies. They're on the southernmost end of the main beach at Chaweng.<BR><BR>Here's a map that I found helpful for Samui (some of the tags are hyperlinked):<BR><BR>http://www.samui.org/map/maplarge.htm<BR><BR>Enjoy your trip!!!

Have to recommend POPPIES in Chaweng beach for dinner and we also had a really good meal at ORIENTAL GALLERY.

In Bangkok we ate at LEMONGRASS which was in an old house filled with Antiques. We enjoyed the thai food!

If you're in the mood for something thai but with western influence, try Kuppa on Sukhumvit Soi 16. We ate there alot recently and always enjoyed it. If you get there early, ask for a table at one of the handing couches.
