Well, the first Kuching get together took place on 11/24. In attendance were myself, my traveling companion, Cheryl, Hornbill, and her friend, Bill, who is an American Ex-Pat. A good time was had by all.

We had a lovely dinner at Magenta, and had lots to talk about. Hornbill was a most gracious host. We understood why Bill had chosen to move to Kuching, as he previously worked at the Mayo Clinic in the cold, cold, mid-west! Kuching is such a lovely place and the locals are so warm and welcoming, I could certainly see myself living in Kuching!

A big thank you to Hornbill for organizing this. Perhaps next time, there will be more Fodorites in town!

I think that such small GTGs are a great idea - a chance to meet up with other like minded people and share some good times. Well worth the effort all round.

thanks for the endorsement. i had a great time too. but i have to correct you - bill has not moved to kuching. he is currently working here but he will go back to u.s.a some day. his family is there!!

I wish I could have been at the mini-gtg. I was so sorry I missed hornbill when I was in Kuching (although I'm sure she was having a blast in Italy). Hopefully, next time.
