Railay to Krabi airport
Just getting down to the finer details of our itinerary and have two last (perhaps
questions:
Is it possible to get from Railay Beach where we will be staying, to the Krabi airport in time checkin for a 9.10am flight to Singapore?? I guess that checkin is 2 hours prior?? Is transport easy to get at that early hour and reliable, or would we be pushing our luck??
Also, if we're flying Singapore Air into Singapore and transitting to a Silk Air flight to Phuket, do you clear customs in Singapore or Phuket.
Thanks for all your past help everyone - much appreciated! It is all coming together nicely now...

Transport in Krabi is available 24/7, just let your accommodation know a few days in advance, remind them the day before you travel and triple check night before, just to be sure! If you arrange with your accommodation they always either have their 'own' transport(which might cost a little more but would be far more reliable) or the staff have their own regular contacts, don't book someone 'off the street', the people the accommodation uses rely on them for business and are therefore reliable.
Traveling via SIN on Singapore Airlines/Silk Air your baggage will be checked thru from NZ to Phuket, you will get your Boarding pass for SIN plus another one for Phuket, when you arrive in SIN just enjoy the transit facilities and then head to the gate about 30 mins before the flight is due to depart, easy easy....TIP: When you check in at NZ do your sweetest smile and ask if you could have seats in row 6/7 or 8 on the Silk Air sector, these are the front rown of Economy. Once on the ground in Phuket put your 'best foot forward' and do a smart fast walk to Immigration, believe me the Immigration Queues there can be 'very bad', so without being rude to any fellow travellers 'don't dawdle' as I am sure you Mom said when you were a kid! Do try and remember, rows 6,7 or 8 and hope you get a 'sweet' check in clerk!!

Thanks again for the replies. We have changed our plans to depart Krabi in the late afternoon which solved my dilema, however flights out of Singapore are now waitlisted so it is comforting to know that if we need to amend the Krabi connection it won't be a problem.
JamesA - have made a note of the seats to request - good idea... I have queues at the best of times, let alone after a 12hr + flight.

Heed that tip, if you arrive on the early morning Silk Air it gets in around the same time as a 747 from bangkok that brings in all the early morning BKK arriving long haul passengers who are checked thru to Phuket, if Silk Air get in first not 'too bad' but be prepared for long queues, it might improve as it is recognised as a problem.
