Raffles the Plaza or Swissotel the Stamford

Both are available at nearly the same price inclusive of breakfast. Which one should I choose? Any preferences?

Note that this isn't the "real" Raffles. Both of these towers were formerly Westin hotels. They were recently switched to new management, one to be managed by Raffles, the other to be manages by Swisshotel. I have stayed in both buildings while they were Westins. The Plaza is the nice building, with larger rooms.

oops! excuse my typing - that last sentence should read "The Plaza is the nicer building, with larger rooms." Both buildings are nice (and they have a great location.)

Thanks for the comments. I was thinking that the Stamford has rooms with balconies and perhaps better views than Raffles the Plaza. Isn't that true? BTW, I'm looking at the cheapest rooms for both.

The rooms at the Stamford do have tiny balconies (at least the ones I've stayed in). As it's a round tower, all the rooms are the same configuration. (I haven't stayed in a suite there.) If you've stayed at any other Westin properties that are round towers (and they have several around the world), then you know what these rooms are like.

The Plaza's rooms are larger, with larger (huge!) bathrooms. I wasn't in the least expensive rooms, so I'm not sure what they are like. The wisdom from frequent Westin travelers was to always choose the Plaza.

I expect that now the two towers are under different management there will be more differences between them. However, I'm sure the new management hasn't changed the room configurations.
