Private Guides and Hotels

I would appreciate any information about private guides or hotel/restaurant recommendations in Vietnam. My husband and I are planning a trip in early April. Thanks for your help.

hi,Chertim
I think you'd need guide in each destination, so you can save money for travelling of guide. many kinds of hotel in Vietnam,
You can go to Halong Bay and Sapa from Hanoi, then fly or train, bus to Hue-visit the old citadel, then transfer to Danang and Hoi An.
Go to HCMC by flight, trip to Mekong delta river.

hi, geegiekins
That time in vietnam, you can attent the Tet festival-the biggest traditional festival and take place everywhere in Vietnam. it's good weather, but quite cold.
Vietnam lie long from North to South, so you can begin from Hanoi or HCM city(2,3days)
From HCMC travel to Danang by plane or train, bus the go to Hoi An (25km, 1day), to Hue(about 100km), from Hue(1,2days) you flight(trai, bus) to Hanoi, and go to Halong(2days), Sapa(3,4days).
If you have more time you can stay longer in each destination or go other places
Cheers!

I have been to Vietnam 4 times, and I agreed that Halong is one of the best tourist attractions in Vietnam. I enjoyed food there. I hope that you and your husband would have nice trip in Vietnam.

If this is the first time you visit Vietnam, I recommend you read this Vietnam travel FAQs before getting there:

In my opinion, you don't really need guides for any of those cities. You can do it on your own. For out of town trips, you'll want a driver which is easy to arrange. Your hotel can do it for you.

oops - I hit post too soon.

You have only 10 days, so don't try to add any other locations. Indeed, if it were me, I'd just do Hanoi and the Hue-DaNang-HoiAn area.
