Anyone stayed at the Le Meridien Starwood beach resort south of Patong? Would you recommend it for a 4-5 day stay in late May?

We stayed there in November and really liked it. The beach is very nice, the pool is one of the best in Thailand and it is well located. A short taxi ride to Patong or Karon Beach. If you stay there, when you want a taxi, just walk up the road off the property to a row of shops. There will be taxi drivers waiting and you can get a ride much cheaper than using the drivers from the hotel. I strongly recommend this place. We used Starwood points. It was a great deal.

Great place, the beach is the best you would get anywhere in that area as the resort is right on it in it's own cove.

However, I do not know the details but mentioned that there will be "minor renovation works" during daytime from 21 May to about 15 June.

So I would check with whoever you are booking with on the precise details, May rates should not be more than about USD 110 including tax, service, breakfast which is good for such a place.

Do note the weather, but rates for the low season are good.

We stayed here in November 2006 for 4 nights using our spg points. We loved the hotel, the rooms and the private magnificant beach.
