Bob and Karen - Well I have now managed to make it through your 2000 photos - enjoyed those of Lombok and now I understand why the Alam Shanti in Bali was so wonderful. The pictures of the monks at the government hospital were especially moving.

Oh by the way, I have probalby said it before but I agree that United Airline s-cks and unfortunately we will be flying them for our last leg from Dulles to Hartford on our VN trip next April...

Craig-if you're clearing immigration in Dulles, be prepared for a very long wait. It took us 2 hours in June.

Don-any Mencken quote is a bon mot(s).

Bob-I'm refraining from ridiculing you for your misuse of "i.e.". I must be slipping.

Andy, when I was booking the flight, the agent wanted to give us 1-1/2 hours at Dulles. Having read your report, I knew that we needed more time - so we now have 4 hours to get through immigration and find our flight to Hartford.

craig---the 1.5 hours probably would have been enough....remember andy had to eat a full meal while still in his cage before immigration would clear him and the aggie people and the national forest department had to have congress pass special legislation to allow him back in the country... the massachusetts bar also had to agree to take him back on some "junior" membership level...

There was a truck rollover in needham this morning and they had to close the highway in both directions. Sort of a metaphor for the typical Needham thought process.

Craig, I used to come back from ZRH through Dulles. I always had about 1 1/2 hours between UA flights, and it was never a problem. Not much "wait" time though.

I no longer go through Dulles... I avoid it at all costs (including $$$$). I'll pay more for my ticket if I can avoid Dulles!

Craig-the hope is that your passage through Dulles is quick and smooth and you get to spend lots of time in the lounge. If our immigration clearance was typical, it's a sad commentary on Dulles.

Close match. LHR is just as crazy and unorganized IMO.
