Pacific Airlines/Jet Star
Planning a trip from SGN to HAN in Jan 09. I have checked airfare on these 2 airline Vietnam Air and Pacific/Jet. Vietnam roundtrip is $260 and Pacific/Jet Star is $160.00
a saving of $100.00 each ticket.
Questions: Have any used Pacific Airline ? Please comment. Service is not very important as it is only a 2 hour flight.
Should I stay go with Vietnam Air ?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't know about Pacific Airlines itself, but I love Jet Star, which is a no-frills carrier. I'd go for it. VN airlines can be a bit spotty. They are upgrading, but some of their aircraft are ancient. You'd probably get the good planes on the heavily trafficked SGN - HAN route, but why pay more?
Check your baggage allowances, though.

Just back from Vietnam, travelled twice on Jetstar/Pacific.Aircraft & service are ok , only problem is that they never seem to depart on time the two flights that I took were both delayed. the first by half hour the second trip was 1hr. If time is not a problem then I would say go for it.

Thank you everyone. I booked my airline tickets from Pacific/Jet Star through the their website. They have at least 5-6 flights a day to HAN, so a little dalay would not affect so much. Will report back early next year.
