Our goddaughter is on her way to PLF - Thanks Lori and Ponheary!

Our goddaughter had a very last minute opening in her 3rd year of university and wanted to do volunteer work. I contacted Lori and Ponheary right before Christmas and it all worked out splendidly - she is off today for almost 4 weeks teaching at PLF and staying at the guest house.

Thanks to Lori and Ponheary for putting it together so quickly! Of course our ulterior motive was so she can pick up some things we should have bought in SR!

Elizabeth_s, what volunteer organization did you use? Do they have projects in other Asian countries?

The PLF (Ponheary Ly Foundation) is located in Siem Reap and helps thousands of children go to school and stay in school. Ponheary Ly is also a highly regarded guide in Siem Reap - we met her 3 years ago when we organized the SR portion of our trip. Lori is a frequent contributor here who moved to SR to be part of the work there.

Here's a link to the website -

This is wonderful! Their work there is so important, and the inn so comfortable. She will have a great time. So worthwhile. Lori and Ponheary are lovely people. I hope that my own kids will do this in a few years.
