Osaka, cheap

My travelocity farewatcher shows that cheap fares to Osaka are back. Washington Dulles to Osaka, via Chicago, for a roundtrip fare of $384 on United. With taxes and the $5 travelocity fee, the ticket price is $471.40 and seats are available. Fly Mon-Thu next week and return Mon-Thu the following week.

It's 14192 miles roundtrip. United has a double elite qualifying miles offer (you have to register and pay $150), so you could earn Premier status for next year with this one roundtrip.

It costs $457.70, total, for the Chicago - Osaka roundtrip (13014 miles roundtrip).

And only $50 or $80 more airfare for Tokyo. You could meet kuranosuke for a sushi breakfast at Tsukiji next week.

Frequently. I am rooting for the Red Sox. Was incredible how they came back the last two games. Knew that guy was going to get a game winning hit last night. Tom Boswell of the Post said that no team could recover from the 19-x drubbing the Sox got in game 3.
Meanwhile, it's Seibu Lions vs Chunichi Dragons in the Japan Series.

I walked into the hotel in Vegas after the Elton John show late Sunday night (totally disoriented after hiking in the wild for 4 days) and saw the tied score on the TV in the casino, and as I walked into my hotel room BOOM, the home run. Then deja vu last night. Tonight is still up for grabs though. The Astros and Roger vs. either team would be very interesting. Can't wait for the Yokohama Sox.

Bob, I did click all the way through on travelocity to the point where another click would mean buying the ticket. That is what I meant when I said that seats are available: you can gets reservations at that price (specifically, I tried Oct 25 - Nov 4).

Thanks, emd, I will post more.

Thanks for the link, Gecko. So far, I've only read the following two sentences from the article:
"Is Bangkok still the gritty sprawling beast of a place most travelers hear about? Of course, and I hope it always will be."

ediemay, woohoo back to u. Have you decided on your weekend activities for your trip?
