No lagoon access at Conrad if with kids

Can anyone confirm whether it is true that Conrad Hotel's policy is not to grant a room with lagoon access if you're with any kids? Has anyone experienced otherwise?

Whether the hotel allows it or not (Bali is not particularly long on safety regulations) if you do get a lagoon room at the Conrad, Sheraton or any other similar set up, be prepared to watch young ones 24/7. Indonesia just doesn't have the safety mechanisms that we expect in Western countries. Life guards, child gates, life saving devices are often non-existent or substandard. Baby sitters like most Indonesian often don't know how to swim. Case in point, a 12 year old boy recently drowned at the Oberoi in the middle of the afternoon! Parents need to be alert and aware.

Thank you for contact details.Do you know whether the lagoon is shallow enough for kids to wade in?

many of the lagoon areas are between your waste and your chest (i am 6 feet)...there are two sandy beach areas at either end of the laggoon and this is where i saw most of the kids playing...it is sort of a kiddie pool that then leads into the main laggoon...trhere may be a small barrier between the tw0...i sort of forget....in any case you would need to watch your kids quite well as the area is huge and they could escape your eyes easily---even under a bridge...
i think there was one quite deep area near the italian restaurant but i may be mistaken...it is a huge water area in any case...the largest i have ever seen anywhere...

Resort facilities: Conrad is newer and better designed.
Beach: Nusa Dua (Sheraton) is far better.
