Need Help with BWI-Tokyo-Beijing Airfare
My husband and I are considering changing our plans for visiting Europe to visiting Asia this year. I have been researching BWI-Tokyo-Beijing-BWI for late May/early June, but the airfare for that timeframe is very expensive. The best that I can find is around $1500 online. I contacted Northwest and Continental directly about booking round-trip airfare to Beijing with a stop-over in Tokyo, and both said that the best airfare was around $2200pp. I’m also trying to contact jtbusa from recommendations on this board, but I haven’t had any luck yet. I checked into the Kobe-Tianjin ferry, but we have a limited amount of time and don’t want to spend two days on a ferry. Are these airfare prices typical? Are there any other resources that I can check into? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies. We would like to leave on 5/26 for Tokyo, fly Tokyo-Beijing on 6/4, then fly back from Beijing on 6/10 (or leave on 5/26 for Beijing, fly Beijing-Tokyo on 6/2, and fly back from Tokyo on 6/10). Unfortunately, the dates aren't very flexible.
Rhkkmk, I will check into the airlines you mentioned. I was able to call a couple of jbtusa's offices and was quoted $1150pp, including taxes, leaving 5/25 (he said 5/26 was booked) and returning 6/10 on AA. That price didn't seem unreasonable. I'm going to call those that were closed today, tomorrow, since I received different info from each of them.
