Cheapest fare from Tokyo to Beijing

Hi, my husband and I are planning a trip to Japan and China next September and wish to fly from Tokyo to Beijing. So far, the airfares have been really expensive.
Can anyone suggest flights or travel for less than $1000 one way?
Thanks.

There are a number of carriers that fly the route--JAL, ANA, Air China, NW. Are you booking both flights together? Altenatively you may want to contact HIS, which has a good reputation for getting competitively-priced air tickets out of Japan.

Yes, we are looking at travel next year and $1000AU is the cheapest one way fare so far !!
We are joining the Diamond Princess out of Beijing's port Xingang and hopefully flying from Perth to Tokyo with frequent flyer points.
By the way, has anyone had experience with travel from Beijing to Xingang? How far is it and how long does the journey take?
Thanks

You're looking too early. Most airlines only have full-fare posted right now. Wait half a year and then check again, also with a travel agent.

Northwest flies NRT-PEK daily and sometimes have lower fares than other airlines.

Roundtrip is often cheaper than one-way.

In fact, if you have to book today, you can buy a roundtrip on NW for ~US$640; which is about AU$720.

Hey, RK, how about from KIX? Any suggestions for flights to Bejing? I also am getting high prices for one way. JAL is quoting $934US each for one way. Is it any cheaper to wait until I am in Japan next week to buy my tickets to China? I am somewhat reluctant to do this for an international flight. Sorry to barge in on your thread, helsylucy.
