Need a hotel in Phuket end of November?

I am traveling with 8 people, so I guess I need 4 rooms. I would like to stay ion Karon beach possibly. Any suggestions of a great medium ranged hotel? We are in our 40's and athletic. Love food art and music. We only have 4 nights.

As so many have been looking for similar there are a lot of postings on this, try a search and you will come up with quie a few, are all 8 adults?

Some of the best value I have seen are at the Karon central Waterfron Suites, a 2 bedroom suite sleeps 4 with kitchen/dining and living area about USD 162 for 4 persons, so quite good value there. Karon Sea Sand Resort just across the road from Karon beach about USD 77 twin, the Old Phuket ( not ond, quite new ) about USD 62 twin, Best Western Ocean resort Karon about USD 74, bungalows at the Kata garden Resort ( short walk down the hill to beach ) around USD 44-54 twin, for the upper end hotels in November many are USD 140+ but not sure of what price range you are looking for.
If you try this site you can put in requests for all those in your range, no credit card needed(!!), they will check what is available, tell you, and then you have a few days to decide which you want, only then do you 'need to confirm' which one you want, so you are not committed at all making requests to check what is available, so you can see what is on offer without making any firm booking.

(also has Patong, Kata and other beaches, they link thru Sawadee)

There are some art galleries on Phuket and lots of good artistes, check on this site and go into the Business in Phuket seaction and see under Art Galleries, as far as music lots of live bands playing around especially in Patong.

Also many places you can have your portrait painted, or you can take photos with you of something/someone special and they will make a painting of it, takes about a day.

Thanks James, I will try that web site. we are 4 couples so we kind of want our own space. Have you stayed at the Woraburi Phuket Resort & Spa or the Karon beach hotel? Any good Jazz in Phuket?

The Karon Beach Resort is one I always recommend but it is up in the US$150+ price range at that time, if you can afford it, it is superb, one of the very very few hotels that is right on the beach itself. On that score way over the Woraburi which is OK but not on the beach itself, I also recommend the Karon beach resort and the Kata beach resort for their absolute beachfront locations.
There 'may' be some jazz around, I used to live on Phuket but now live elsewhere in Thailand though I go down there quite a lot on business. You will find a lot on that Phuket Gazette website.

if you enjoy Thailand and love jazz then you should note the Annual Jazz Festival takes place early June every year in Hua Hin.

I have narrowed it down to either the baan Karon Buri or the Woraburi Phuket(special internet deal) as the Karon beach resort is out of our price range. Of the two do you have a preference? I would like to feel like I am in Thailand and not in an American hotel . We live rurally though and do enjoy a little night life. Music and good food would be great.Do you know of any local musicians we should check out?
