Moderate hotel for KL?

Hoping to find something in KL in August (high season, I know) for less than $100/night in good location for food hawkers and general sightseeing. We are not shoppers of designer stuff, but like to shop in the night markets. We are two middle aged couples, not backpackers, but not needing to stay at The Ritz, either. Suggestions most appreciated.

We liked the Crowne Plaza Mutiara for its location. We paid less than $100/night but this was during Feb.

Last spring I stayed at the Hotel Equatorial, which is practically next door to the Crown Plaza Mutiara.

I enjoyed the hotel (and had stayed there previously); I recollect that it would be in your price range.

Hotels in KL are pretty reasonable. The Federal is okay, as is the (other) Mutiara and the Dorsett Regency. All of them should be in your price range.

Hi

I stayed at the Traders and that was fantastis. I got a club room for about 100$ but it was a special rate through a company that I was working for. Here is my review http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...rsekutuan.html

Here is my KL trip report with pictures, links and maps by the way: http://gardkarlsen.com/malaysia_kuala_lumpur.htm . Get in touch if you have any questions or comments.
