Actually it depends on the time of day.I think. We had a remarkable 2 hour cruise from Emerald Isle last week at 4:15. Sat on top of the boat and it was delightful!

Habsfahn, are you still in India? IF you have time, can you start a new thread, even a brief one to let us know where you are and how you are doing?
Was the boat cruse 4:15 a.m. or p.m.?

FYI, blog links are fine and always have been (as long as they aren't commercial) -- but ONLY starting threads that are blog links is an issue. This has always been the case at Fodor's forums.

Will you please expand on the concept you mention? What exactly does a thread with "only...blog links" look like, and what does an acceptable blog link look like, if the thread is begun for the purpose of sharing a trip report on our non-commercial sites?

The posts in question were seen as a way to drive traffic to the poster's blog, rather than a way to share travel insights with the Fodors community. Commercial or not, one should strive to create threads on Fodors forums that are useful in and of themselves, without the need to navigate to 3rd party sites. I have advised Ali as much.
