I had a funny encounter with my pharmacist today. I asked if my insurance would cover Rifaximin so she looked it up for me and gave me the following information: 200mg for 30 tabs would cost me $134. 550 mg for 30 tabs would cost me $10. Duh.....
Coincidentally, she lived in India for 15 years and she told me that it is really easy to get it in India although she was unaware of it being used as a preventative as opposed to treatment. Well, we have 2 months to decide how to take it. (PS, got our visas yesterday).
