I have travelled to China on numerous occasions and never took any pills/had any shots. The only thing to remember is, as many have mentioned, not to drink tap water and wash fruit/veg with bottled water.

As I may not get another chance to re-apply my DEET for 12 or more hours, being effective longer is important to me.

Just returned from second trip to China..No malaria pills either time. Took the typhoid pills as recommended by our MD as they last five years instead of the shot which only lasts two years. Had both Hep. shots years ago..
