@CaliNurse - I had to have a discussion with the guide in Sicily about putting us in the shade and not the sun, lol. He seemed puzzled. Your Red Fort guide sounds really good, but I suspect he is in the minority. Too many of them want to recite names and dates, even good ones. We had a good - as in knowledgeable - guide on the architectural river boat cruise I took in Chicago, but virtually all the info was eminently forgettable.
@jacketwatch - Yes, I have been to China. Three times. But since the last time was in 2004 my info on visas is well past its sell-by date. You want Peter NH.
You must not be reading my posts. I am complaining because he didn't say that he had a business!

I am reading your posts, just see it differently. That’s all. I’m not going to argue about it.

JW, my RN brother in profession and retirement!! Thursdaysd inadvertently proposed an idea for your time now--you can be a great guide on the Chicago architectural riverboat ride she mentioned!

Yesterday on PBS there was a two hr. documentary about that tour and Chicago history in general. We did that boat ride once too. Really liked it but not enough to consider applying for a position.

Well..what about a personal river boat tour by you and Mrs JW if I get to Chicago?
(Sorry, gang---this has gotten even more off topic from Lucknow, but is lots more lighthearted than discussing/disputing tour guide pros and cons!)
