Looking for hotel in W. Burma

Going to Burma this fall, Yangoon, Mandaly, and Chin state. I am looking for a hotel of some kind in the Tedim (Tiddim) area. Any hostels, B&B, and hotel in the area

A couple of suggestions: You may want to ask this on Thorntree, the Lonely Planet Forum, as this area is far off the traveler's path. Indeed, have you checked to make sure you can get to this area? This area was off-limits for decades, and while portions of the Chin State are now accessible, many areas still require a government permit. Some areas require a car/driver and guide in addition to the permit, which can make this an expensive excursion. The other suggestion I have is to contact a local travel agent in Yangon, who would be able to arrange a permit, if necessary and could tell you about any accommodations licensed to accept foreigners.

This is an unusual itinerary for a first-time visit. You haven't included the most interesting two of the "big four": Bagan and Inle. Good luck to you.

If you are going there for a church mission, they should have contacts in the area who can help with accommodations.

Similar requests on TA last month but no response.
If you are on TA why not send a PM to these two Burmese frequent posters who may have some local knowledge
