lcuy checks in from Saigon...

I've been having a hard time with the internet, so this will just be a trailer for the trip report later...

Having a great time in Saigon! We're staying at the Spring hotel at the moment. We took an overnight to Can Tho & Phuong Hiep down in the Mekong Delta, then came back to eat our way across Saigon.

We have been eating everything and everywhere. Street stalls, market stalls, dinner with a family in Phoung Hiep during a huge monsoon rain, at a rooftop party in suburban Saigon. Lots of fruit shakes, fresh fruits, fish, shrimp, and green vegetables. We spent today with a family in an old neighborhood in District 8. Went shopping at the local market, had a cooking lesson, then ate lunch and dinner with the family.

Last night was at a goat meat place where they put little hibachis on your table and let you DIY. We did NOT sample the brains and livers, but everything else was tasty.

We haven't had a meal that wasn't incredibly good, and we had some pretty exciting adventures and a nice massage too.

Tomorrow we do our only tourist activity- the Cu Chi tunnels.

More later!!

Glad your having fun! We are leaving next week so are looking forward to the same! Can you tell me are you staying in a BnB/Homestay in District 8 with that family or were you just visiting?

I see there is a BnB in Hostelworld called Thi Bich Van in District 8 & wondered if you might be staying there and could give me a review.
