Service is absolutely fabulous, but after employees seeing us with Manager yesterday afternoon-service a little more attentive. Then at breakfast they were hovering around like bees. Ty stopped again to visit while we were finishing. Then took us to the French and Co coffee shop. Beautifully decorated with old scales. Very unique and even more hovering. It ain't what you know it is who you know. And that certainly applies here.

Out by pool. Lunch at French and Co. Karen took a class while we had dessert. Pool again and eating at Department of Chemistry tonight. Karen is a great packer and coming back to our room to help me pack.

There is a waiter here that has his hair in a point on top of his head. We call him Mr. Ridgeback (for the dogs bred here on the island).

We are packing like mad. Of course, 65 will buy another suitcase. I may be ok, but still have four shopping days in Bangkok.

To my daughter, I have not been in one junk shop. Isn't that amazing? Bob has a very full schedule for us for our last four days. It will be a whirlwind of activity before the flight home.

I couldn't update because you two kept me so busy and, now that I am home, I am exhausted. I can barely put a thought together.

I will never be able to thank you both enough for organizing this wonderful trip for us. It was more wonderful than I imagined it would be. I loved every single moment. When my head and body are working in unison, I will add my thoughts.

so glad you had such a wonderful trip, can't wait to hear about your last four days. Now that you are home, what was your favorite part? and since we take off in a month in your footsteps, what were your favorite shopping meccas in Bangkok?

I am back physically and emotionally. No one told me that it takes a week to recover from jet leg. Not to mention the gift I received from the plane trip home-a terrible head cold, which is better but am still fighting.

I am going to mention some things things I did, wish I had taken and not taken and general comments. This is in no particular order.

Snakes-I am terrified of snakes. In the beginning of thinking about this trip, I considered seriously about not going because I was worried about seeing a snake. Did not see any except when on the boat of the floating market in Bangkok. there were two huge snakes up on a table above the boat. Would have had to get out of boat for picture, etc. Quick view then down waterway. Karen kept me distracted so I would not have to see them on way back. I am sure they were lurking around me somewhere but were nice enough to keep their distance. Thank heavens for that.

Shoes-I wore Dansko sneakers on the plane and occasionally some days. But after I fell in the bathroom in Bangkok with my sneakers on, figured I was so stupid and old could not lift my feet so didn't wear them much after that. I took some Bali slides (Not necessary), some dressy gold ballet flats (wore), Skechers rubber shoes (sort of ballet flat) which I could have used more often. But they were invaluable at the pool at Phu Quoc in Vietnam. The pool was very slippery and I wore them when going down the steps of the pool.

But the shoes I wore most were Skechers black ballet flats. I usually wear orthotics in my shoes but these shoes were just perfect and never had sore feet.

Clothes. Took tops and capris. Wish I had more tops and less bottoms. But I would have liked about four mid length dresses. Easy wash and wear and easy to change up with scarves and necklaces. What I took worked well but will know better next time. I hope.

Mozzies-The terrible mosquito problem. I took lots of mosquito repellant (deet included) and used some repellant the first few days. After that, nothing. 65 thought she got a couple of bites on one of our last evenings in Bangkok. We were outside for dinner. I noticed several red spots on my ankles but no itching. So don't know what bit me, if anything.

The one thing we both used was a loofa with some mosquito repellant soap inside. I had read that mozzies like dry skin. We each used two during the three weeks. I do not know if this helped but it sure didn't hurt. Maybe there are not many mozzies around in Nov.-Dec.

Weather-Absolutely beautiful. It was quite warm but not like I was expecting. I thought it was going to be hotter than hell. But it wasn't. Last day in Bangkok was the hottest. I had a pashmina I took to dinner with me every night. Air con can be cold.

Washing-we washed clothes several times and had a bundle done at hotel in
Bangkok. Expensive. Clothes do not dry quickly in air conditioning. We put clothes on balcony to dry.
