Thailand political unrest

Hi all.
We have a trip planned for Thailand in December. Given the current situation there, any thoughts on whether it will still be going on 3 months from now?
Thanks...

It will probably be done by then. I am going over next week. I talked with some people and the protests are pretty much only near government house. Aside from the airport issues in the south, it is not having any effect on other areas. In fact most of Bangkok shows no signs at all. I would plan on going and having a great trip. I will probably be back there again in Nov/Dec. Not stopping my plans..

There has bee a recent thread about this - take a look. Also, the thread Carol is blogging from bangkok is a first hand report of what was happening in the rest of Bangkok... nothing.

I have to say the unrest doesn't worry me at all. I'm headed there in October.

Read some of the New York Times articles about the situation.

I'm to be back in BK in December, too and unrest will not cause me to cancel my trip... elderly family issues possibly...but not unrest.
I was in BK during the bombings of New Year's Eve 2006 and made it through that. So, unrest seems a lot smaller to me compared to bombings...looking at it on the big scale of things.
Plus, nothing is predictable. A Thai friend and I had just walked through an area of the bombings some hours before they had taken place and things were peaceful. Who would have thought that bombs would be going off in various parts of the city... and one even in my area of residence...just some hours later. Happy Travels!

generally guen causes unrest, but aside from that go and enjoy... its a thai thing and the way they manage....you would have to go out of your way to see anything of the unrest!!

I, as well, will be there in December and I won't be canceling my plans. Nothing could keep me from going back.

It's natural to ask the question--I remember back in 2006 when they had their last coup, I was asking the same thing before we left for our trip.
