I had mine done in the hotel. The key is to seperate the color for them and give them detail instruction. You might want to write it on a piece on paper and go thru with the front desk. The people doing the laundry don't read English and they don't understand the italian symbols on the labels.

Are you staying in town or out by the beach?
We stayed by the beach at the Victoria. Rather than have it done at the hotel which would have been expensive, we walked over to the main road which goes from the beach to town. There are a dozen or so shops there and many have "Laundry" signs. We picked one and had laundry done there twice for $1 per kilo.

We're here now, and at the Victoria, by the pool as I write this! Thanks for the tips. We may eat at Secret Garden tonight, although I have to say we had a really terrific meal last night at Dao Tien (like Koto in Hanoi) for $15.00 for two of us -- two local beers, a large plate of fried wontons, crispy noodles with beef, an tiger prawns in tamarind sauce. Excellent -- it'll be hard to pony up the $50 it'll cost us to eat at Secret Garden LOL!
Thanks for the laundry tips. I ended up washing my own undies -- so just need to have hubby's whites and some t-shirts done. Hotel prices are absurd, so I'll look in town.

Since this was my thread, I don't mind the hijack LOL! rhkkmk, we ate at Secret Garden tonight and it was wonderful. I don't know why I thought it was one of the "expensive" ones -- we saw some menus yesterday while walking around that had set menus for $24USD per person (Brothers Cafe for ex). Our dinner tonight at Secret Garden cost $17 for two of us!! One beer, one soda, white roses, spicy shrimp, sour beef, Hoi An noodles and steamed rice. What a bargain -- delicious food, lovely setting, live music, nice staff.
