Lake Towadako and Oirase Stream
We are going to this area for a few days in Northern Tohoku this fall and wanted any information anyone would like to share about places to stay and favorite hikes and sights in the area.
We have been looking at staying at the Oirase Keiryu Hotel or maybe and preferably a small ryokan in the area like the Ryokan Kawamura.
Any ideas or suggestions???
Aloha!

I was just there in the early fall last year. I'd always wanted to visit. The Oirase stream was absolutely beautiful. We stayed at Aoni Onsen. It's quite a good deal at only 8,000 yen per person with meals. Very basic though, no private toilet, very simple food. The location is really beautiful though and the onsen baths are very nice. I passed by the Oirase Keiryu Hotel and it's a big plain looking hotel, nice enough I suppose.

Mealea,
How was that rotenburo at Aoni Onsen? I hear that it is beautiful! We had actually planned on staying at Aoni Onsen Ryokan but will not be renting a car on this portion of trip so the free private bus service from Hachinohe JR station that the Oirase Keriyu is offering looks very convenient and they are right on the Oriase stream so we might go that way this time.
Thanks for the information!
