Probably Bangkok but I'm open to other POV's. Also I have a friend in KL as well. What are the pros and cons and what about the weather in say late Oct?

Well, if your friend can take you around in K.L. to see his/her secret K.L. places then it might be fun - but BKK every time for my money. No question. 100%.

One thing for sure is my friend knows where to eat there. His wife is a food critic for some local mag and the pics he posts of the places she reviews is amazing. We'll see but my instinct says go with BKK. Anyway I have a friend there too.
