Krabi & Phi Phi for 8 days?

Would like recommendations for splitting up 8 days in Krabi province. We arrive in Krabi evening of Nov. 28 and fly back to Bangkok on Dec. 7.

Does it make sense to divide time equally in Krabi and Phi Phi? We were planning to stay the last 5 nights at Phi Phi Island Village.

Where to stay in Krabi? Want to stay in 4 or 5 star hotel, somewhere with nice and quiet beach yet close enough to see sights without traveling too much every day.

First thought was staying in Railay but think it may be too isolated. Need help deciding since we've never been to Thailand.

I'm doing 7 nights in the area next month. I decided to do 4 nights in Krabi and then 3 nights on Phi Phi.

There is a Sheraton at Ao Nang and an Amari Vogue in the same area about 1/2 hr from Krabi town. Both are fabulous properties to stay at. If you have itchy feet and don't want to spend the whole time at either resort a car is advisable. Driving in the area is very easy. We have been to the sheraton twice and would go back in a flash. The Amari is a unique setting. You can google both.

Rayavadee is extremely lovely. It has everything anyone could want. Expensive but we loved it. Check the website...just google it.

Wish I could afford the Rayavadee. Was looking at the updated deluxe cottages at the Railay Bay Resort. Anyone recommend these?

Location does look wonderful. But the Amari Vogue does look like one of the nicest resorts, just not sure of it being so isolated....

The Sheraton is probably cheaper than the Amari, has a better beach and has a great restaurant across the street, The Terrace. The Amari is more luxurious, but I would stay at the Sheraton. We have twice and loved it.
