KimJapan & All!

KimJapan,
Did you see any hotels while you were in Bali? As you can see,I can't decide where to stay, we have 10 nights in Bali. Tugu looks nice too. Did you see any hotels with beautiful large grounds/modern room? We have about $6000 budget (if possible my husband would like to stay around $5K) for 15 nights (between Bali & SIN or Kuala Lumpur & BK), food, hotels and sight seeing. Call me crazy, I think FS is nice but, Ritz has prettier grounds and view, I could be wrong. Royal Pita Maha & Puri Wulandari, The Legian, Tugu looks nice too. any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

KimJapan,
I forgot, private pool resort would be nice with some beautiful views. I would like one Balinese posh hotel with Plunge pool and luxury/posh bigger hotel with lush/bigger grounds with an awesome beautiful view (on the beach would be lovely. I like "The Legian" for that reason. thank you.

We don't stay in the southern part of the island, we stay in Ubud, so the places I have seen are in that area.

I have toured the Pita Maha, but not the Royal Pita Maha. The Pita Maha is set into the river gorge and is gorgeous. Many rooms have private pools, there is a beautiful spa, and the staff was very friendly.

The Ibah is another place that is beautiful. There is the Komaneka right in town as well, but set outside of town a little is the Komaneka Suites that certainly look lovely. Kajane Mua is a small place that you might want to look at.,..also right in town. The Maya is right outside of town and has an interesting layout and design. The Uma is just outside of town in the other direction, and is modern in design - if you like that style this might be a nice option.

The Ritz Carlton, though gorgeous, is up on a cliff, not right on the beach, though they have some transportation option to the beach should you not want to walk down. The Legian seems like one of the only southern resorts that appeal to me.

Have you considered a villa? http://www.tamugroup.com/flash.html is a group that has gorgeous looking villas.

We spent $5000 US a little over a year ago for 17 nights in Bali, 2 adults, 1 child. Our room was $65.00/night including breakfast, and we spent the rest of our money on eating, drinking, and classes and just a few purchases. I'm not sure you will be able to stick to your budget if you stay in the sort of places you are considering unless you can get a very good price.

Thank you Kim. You are correct, if I want to stay at nice places could cost me approximately $300 to 400 per night for 9 to 10 nights is already 4K. I have to find a way to bump up the budget over $6K for the hotels, food and sight seeing.

In Bali there are lots of places for under $100/night that are lovely. They won't be polished, the service won't be perfect...but they are certainly comfortable, the staff will be warm, and your stay will be special. If you choose carefully, you can get excellent value for not much money. Of course, if you are looking for a total splash out holiday, the fact that there are less expensive options is moot.
