From the Banyan Tree to Suan Lum is about a kilometer, not too far especially with the weather we are having at the moment - kind of cool(19 C according to my car's computer)! Also, it's a popular place for jogging in the early morning and afternoon.

There is a 5km purpose built jogging/cycling track a few km out of Chiang Mai. Cyclists go clockwise, joggers anti clockwise. Additionally, Chiang Mai University has two jogging/fitness tracks and you could also jog in the University grounds.
There is a hash here as well.

Thanks Bob, I meant ok to jog the 1Km from the hotel to the park to continue jogging there (rather than just walk to the park).... I'm lucky enough to be able to jog again after a stroke in March this year (at age 35) so keen to make the most of it!!!

I expect that very early morning would be the only time of the day you could stand to jog in Bangkok (very hot and humid), so the quick jog to Lumphini and around the park would be great. It will be cooler in CM, especially in the early morning.
