Japan end of April to early May

Hi,
My friend wants to go to Japan April 29-3May but she is being told that there is a holiday at that time and she shouldn't go at that time. Does anyone know any info?

Hi I'll be in Japan from 1st May 2010 to 15th of May 2010.
I will probably only stay in Tokyo during the 1st and 2nd of May, go visit other cities until the Saturday 8th of May.

So I will spend a whole week in Tokyo from the 8th of May till the 15th at my friend's place.

Do you guys want to meet up in Tokyo from the 1st till the 2nd/3rd of May? I don't know anyone except my friend over there but he will away because it is Golden Week.

Cheers,
Ed.
