They are all so totaly different, also the level of quality varies a great deal, very surprised they are coming in at the same.
Impiana Cabana is right on the beach in Patong so although good location is very busy area. Kata Beach resort is a modern 3 star range property right on the beach at the south end of Kata, Kata Thani is a superiour property, they are just 'so' different.
I can't comment on that booking service as I don't use them.

Kata Thani is way superior to the Kata beach resort, it is difficult to compare with Impiana as totaly different set up and style.

A twin at the kata Thani is less than a family toom !

Are you say Euro 950 for 7 nights arriving 2nd January ? for the kata Thani or Impiana or the Kata Beach resort? That works out something like USD 175 a night which for the Impiana or Kata Thani sounds, well, that is more like a cheaper November rate.

Euro 135 a night for the kata beach resort would be normal, but Kata Thani and Impiana would normaly be way way above that for that time of year.

The rate on Asia Rooms including taxes for 6 nights -

Kata Thani - 978 eur Family Room

Kata Beach - €858 Superior
€930 Deluxe

Impiana Phuket Cabana - €996 - Superior

Now unless they come back with a rate change? but I just checked it there now

I know its hard to give a recommendation!......

Any thoughts on which one would be best suited for
- right on the beach for the first week ,
- close to nightlife , a few bars and some nice restaurants with a sea view for some special evenings

- also close to the ' sit in the sand and relax' type of casual beach restaurant./bars.

You should know that asiarooms has a recent history of advertising one rate and once you book, they come back with a much higher rate. Try it, but beware!

Hi Kathie

That is exactly what I think might be going on here
But I guess I can cancel if the rate is higher?

Have you nay thoughts on the hotel choice?

Kata Thani = Luxurious beach resort, quietest of the 3

Karon Beach resort = more a mid range beach hotel, busier area with restaurants and some bars nearby but not as busy as Patong

Impiana Cabana - right on Patong beach very busy area, staggering distance from Soi Bangla nightlife, clubs, bars etc.

Well as i said, that rate is about USD 8 'more' than other charge, however, others show clearly there is a THB 1,500 per room per night surcharge during that period until 10th Jan. Also note that others do not charge you the whole amount when booking, you pay 1 night and the balance a certain number of weeks before arrival.

We stayed at the Katathani in May 2005 & although it's a very nice hotel If we return to Phuket we would stay at the Meridien.
