of course not.... it also happens to be their country and i am just a visitor... in this case an "ugly" american...

I saw an Andrew Zimmern program about Delhi before we went to India in 2009. He was in the area around the Red Fort. He went to a Muslim restaurant for dishes composed of body parts from animals that I wouldn't particularly want to eat. But you can get beef in Muslim restaurants -- that's a general suggestion -- since you don't like lamb. He also ate ate an Indian restaurant (name began with a "B"), but it didn't get stellar reviews on Chowhound or whatever, so we decided not to go as we were staying way south.

the restaurant might be the bukkara (sp) in the delhi sheraton??

That could be it . . . can't remember. All food is eaten with fingers, not forks.
