Hua Hin in October?
We will be travelling to Thailand in the last week of October this year. Intending to spend 4-5 days at a beach resort and then a couple of days in Bangkok before heading home to Australia. My research indicates that October is an iffy month weatherwise for the beach areas, but wanting opinions on the least iffy areas......would we be best advised to head to Hua Hin or would another beach area be better in late October?
Thanks, Shooshy

Yes, very iffy, but it makes sense to choose a beach where you don't need flights/ferries etc, early October would be better, you can see where October rainfall surges.
To give you an idea, these are rainfall stats for Sept / Oct / Nov:
Bangkok : 12.6 / 9.1 / 2.3
Pattaya: 5.4 / 9.5 / 2.8
Hua Hin : 5.4 / 10.5 / 5.2
Samui area: 7.6 / 9.8 / 5.6
Phuket area: 16.5 / 12.0 / 8.2
Pattaya/Jomtien if you want lively/busy though quieter places around Sunset beach and beyond from Jomtien quieter. HH makes sense if you choose a nice resort with spa, and facilities/areas to relax if it rains, a place like the Sofitel with nice public rooms and spa would be 'rainy day friendly' and you can grab an umbrella and you are 'right in town', as long as you know the chances of rain are there you can mindset to adjust. Hyatt ( Sheraton due August ), Marriott etc. Pattaya/Jomtien is busier with more shopping etc, Sheraton too, but for R&R before heading home HH would probably be a reasonable choice being that you 'do' have the town with restaurants, shops etc close at hand if you get those rainy days.
