Hua Hin hotels

We are going to Thailand in June. We are travelling with 2 children (5 and 7). Planning to stay one week. Would like some info, (good and bad) on the following hotels we consider staying at: Hua Hin Mariott Resort and Spa, Anantara and Ewason. Would like info about location, beach, rooms, pools, gardens, service, restaurants and children facilities.

Thanks for your help!

Top hotels in Hua Hin are "Chivasom" and Grand Hyatt(brand new).

I was in Hua Hin in December. I had reservations for the Hyatt, but it delayed its opening, so had to find another place. I stayed at the Anantara and had a wonderful time. It's a lovely property with nice beach, pools, restaurants. etc. I would have been perfectly content to never leave the resort. It has a fabulous spa just in case you need some pampering. The lagoon rooms are the best.

I booked over the internet and got a great price on a spa package. I'm sorry I can't remember which of the booking services I used maybe asia-hotels.com.

The Chiva Som is considered the best spa in Thailand, but the price was too much for me!

The resort is the 'Evason' ( I don't know if you made a typo or if you have been searching 'Ewason? ). Anyway, the 'Evason' is a high class resort, trouble is that it is about 30 kms south of Hua Hin, totally on its own, which of course is great if you want a remote resort, not not much fun if you want to travel out from your hotel. Hyatt is now open. Marriott is good, close enough to walk into Hua Hin, has a kids club. The Anantara is to the north of the town center, again it is an excellent hotel, but much too far to walk, takes about 5-8 minutes by tuk-tuk. Hope this helps. Without pushing personal preferences too much, with a 5 & 7 year old the Marriott having a kids club might give it the edge over the Anantara. Try www.asiatravel.com they have links to all the hotels you mentioned with maps and good info/rates.
