How much time needed between domestic and international flights in Bangkok?

I am considering a domestic flight(PBAir) which gets into BKK(Suvanaphum-sp?) at 11:20am, and then a flight to Siem Reap(Bangkok Air) which doesn't leave until 4:25pm. That makes it a 5 hour layover. Is that way too much time to kill? Any suggestions as to what we can do while waiting(with 2 kids)?

for one thing it will be lunch time so it will be helpful to have time for the kids to hit mcdonalds without rushing...

if flts are late you will like having the extra time...

most would feel its too long but i like the extra time...

do you have to pickup your luggage or will it be checked through--that's another consideration...

Just checked the Bangkok Air flights and they now have a 3:15pm flight to Siem Reap so that will reduce the layover by over 1 hour.

I am also thinking about taking my kids to Siem Reap. How much is the roundtrip fare from BKK to Siem Reap? I can get to BKK probably on frequent flyer miles. Thanks

The only airline that flies non-stop Bangkok to Siem Reap is Bangkok AIr. The tickets are therefore rather pricey, about US$320 RT last I checked. However, if you will be flying three legs on Bangkok AIr you can qualify for the Discovery Pass. Take a look at their website for details.

I checked the rdtrip fare to Siem Reap today and the price was 42,645 baht for 2 adults and 2 children in July-seems really high. Can I use the Discovery Pass even if we don't need the 3rd leg?
