Hotel Raas Jodphur -- Good Choice for a Splurge?

As part of Rajasthan trip (for which I have separately sought -- and received -- input from this forum), I am trying to decide if the Raas in Jodphur is worth it as a splurge for a couple of nights. I like the idea of being in the old city vs say the Ratan Villas or Ajit Bhawan. If we passed on the Raas would likely stay at Pal Haveli or equivalent in Jodhpur and use the splurge elsewhere on the trip. Thanks.

What are your alternative splurge options? Everyone I talked to says that while the Raas is good, it's not the best or good value.

There is much difference in terms of facilities & services between Raas and Pal Haveli. Raas is a luxury while Pal Haveli a decent 3 star. So the difference in price is also good. However if you are ok with staying in 3 star, I would suggest staying in Paal Haveli. Or else with that kind of money, staying at a palace hotel like Umaid Bhawan would be worth

Thanks for the perspectives. Will deploy splurge funds elsewhere! rhkkmk, by the way, thanks for suggesting Bhanwar Niwas in Bikaner, where I've booked.
