Hotel Juliana, Phnom Penh

My husband and I recently returned from 6 weeks in Asia. Our hotels were great with the exception of the Juliana. From the moment we checked in, the manager was surly and arrogant. Our last night there, we had a mouse in our room. Three men tried for two hours to catch it, while turning the room upside down. We stood around for two hours until finally we were given another room for the rest of the night. In the morning, the manager acted as if giving us another room was compensation enough. Do you agree? jim....better that the mouse was running around in your room than being served to you in a delicious cambodian side dish....

i think a bottle of wine might have been in order but remember where you were....its not paris

I'm afraid the Juliana is used to catering to people who only need the rooms for a short time. Their patrons are usually too busy to notice a mouse.

Juliana a short time hotel? It used to be a good mid range place to stay and a lot of tour groups used it. Recent reviews have not been that bad. The mouse was probably more scared that the guests.

I think getting another room was the most compensation you could expect.
